According to the Davis Sterling Act, an assessment to HOA homeowners can only be used for common use property and may not be used to benefit privately owned property. Is that true ?

Hey, thanks for doing this... totally interesting to listen to! It's really unbelievable the crap that HOAs can get away with! I live in south FL and our dues each month are $250! This, after they just painted the outside (I kid you not) Pepto Bismol pink so it now looks like 'the projects'. They also haven't even cut the grass in over a month! So I ask, WHAT in heaven's name are we paying all this money for? It's just crazy! Not only that but here in FL did you know that an association can foreclose on your home if you don't pay these crazy fees? Yup! Total nonsense!
Anyway, I will get off my soapbox now (hehe) but really... I did want to say thanks. I plan to do some more research on this subject and learn more about the CC&Rs.
Thanks! :)
